Shoot The Moon

One More Amazing Video About The Last Anular Solar Eclipse

I don't get enough! I love the Moon and any astro event, so I got excited one more time when I found this amazing video product by Theodore Judah, an american astro-photographer who set his camera at Sundial Bridge, Redding, California.
He published his amazing work on May 22, 2012, after a perfect post-production, using as sound track the beautiful and appropriate song by Peter Adams, "Shoot The Moon"!

Have fun watching this video.

Tractor Trailer Sized Asteroid Between Earth And Moon Video

This video shows what's going to happen tomorrow 1 April 2012. A tractor trailer-sized asteroid will pass between the Earth and the Moon at the distance of 143,000 miles (about 136.000 km), this mean very close to the Earth.

The asteroid was spotted by the Pan-STARRS 1 telescope in Hawaii on March 13 this year.
'Asteroid 2012 EG5 will safely pass Earth on April 1,' said scientists at Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory via a Twitter post.

Asteroid 2012 EG5 Close Call 04/02/2012

The asteroid 2012 EG5 is the third asteroid to pass close by Earth within a week. Two smaller asteroids pass by Earth on Monday. The closest asteroid 2012 FS35 passed within 36,000 miles.

Nasa has been keen to dispel any panic surrounding asteroids this year as rumours of an apocalypse linked to the Mayan calendar have surfaced on the internet.

The asteroid 2012 EG5 will be closer than the moon when it passes Earth at 5:32 a.m. EDT (0932 GMT). The space rock is about 150 feet wide, according to a NASA update.

The Human Being is lucky one more time...
Could be the Moon our lucky charm?

Today Nasa astronomers are carrying out a survey called the Spaceguard Survey to find any large near-Earth asteroids long before they hit.
